TOURNAMENT RULES AND REGULATIONS

RULES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE. FINAL INSTRUCTIONS WILL BE PROVIDED AT THE CAPTAIN'S MEETING.

  1. This is a catch & release tournament using the iAngler app.
  2. Judges have the final say and shall communicate to the teams via the iAngler app.
  3. This is a team boat tournament.
  4. All Team Members must fish from the same boat. No transferring of boats shall be permitted
  5. All fish must be measured on the official tournament fish ruler with the applicable tournament poker chip, and photos uploaded on iAngler.
  6. Fish will not be rounded up to the next inch so clear photos showing measurement is vital. Photos must be captured at a ninety (90) degree angle directly above the center of the fish.
  7. Anglers can use any bait of choice.
  8. No fishing within 250 feet of marina areas, boat launches or fuel stations.
  9. All teams/anglers are expected to know and obey all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and laws. Violation of such rules may result in disqualification from the tournament. 
  10. Captains may launch at safe light, which is at the captain’s discretion.
  11. A minimum of 2 anglers per boat is required for safety reasons with a maximum of 6 anglers for boat registration fee.  
  12. No line in the water before 7:00 am (Honor Start).
  13. Valid State of Florida fishing license is required to participate in the tournament, as regulated by Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission.
  14. In case of a tie, the angler who catches the targeted species first wins.
  15. Boats can launch from any dock of their choice as long as they abide by the launch at safe light rule and do not have lines in water before 7:00 am.

FORMAT & SCORING

  1. Fish Like MADD is a photo fishing tournament using the iAngler app and targeting snook, redfish and sea trout.
  2. There will be a Calcutta, which will be announced at the Captain’s Meeting at Snug Harbor Waterfront Restaurant on Friday night, October 25th, 2024, at 7 pm.
  3. Boat Team: First place will be awarded to the boat that has the most inches for their longest snook, redfish and sea trout in total length (Inshore Slam). If no boat obtains all three species, winner will be determined by total length of fish submitted. You do not need all three species to win with total length. In the event of a tie, the team that caught their fish first will be determined the winner. Second, third, and fourth place awards shall follow the same format. Cash prizes and a trophy awarded for this category to first, second, and third place. Fourth place shall receive a free boat entry into next year’s tournament.
  4. All cash prizes must be claimed by at least one (1) member of that specific team in person at the Awards Ceremony. If a member of a team is not present at the award ceremony to collect the cash prize, then that award remains the property of MADD SWFL.
